1st base, shortstop, centerfield
"Da Coach"

Jules, can you drive us all home?

My Team

This is the women's team that I coach. We had a little pre-season party at the Sports Club that sponsors our team. I gave them all nicknames that night, and they've pretty much stuck. : )

Let's Go to the Beach!

Newport Beach. This is the first beach I was taken to in Australia. Narelle and I had a lovely lunch overlooking the boats on the water, and then went out for a little beach volleyball. We even saw Eric Bana (The Incredible Hulk) swimming in the ocean.

Our Pets

These are our pets. Meet Sampson the cat and the fish from the pond.
Sampson has a sister (Delila) and Chipper is the dog. They refused to sign the consent form to release their pictures to the public.

OUR BACKYARD!

Enough said. Yes, that's our pool! There is so much lush, green foliage out here...it reminds me of a rainforest.

BAULKHAM HILLS

Welcome to Baulkham Hills! This is the intersection right off the M2. The expressways here are called motorways and are labeled M1, M2, etc. They drive on the left side of the road too! One of 4 countries to do so. England, New Zealand, Japan, and Australia! This just in - Hong Kong drives on the left side as well. Not all of China...just Hong Kong.

STAN!!

Meet Stan. He's my host dad (and my team's manager). What a hoot!

North Sydney Skyline

One of the many portions of Sydney's beautiful skyline...a bit rainy upon my arrival.

Sydney Harbour Bridge

The famous Sydney Harbour Bridge...
as we're driving to my host family's house from the airport.

The eagle has landed!

Right as I got off the plane, I had a little taste of America. The first thing I saw was this ginormous Toblerone display! And, of course, a reminder of MOM...

On my way...

The sun rises over Australia from the plane!

Let the Journey Begin!!!

This is the Australian Flag. It encompasses a bit of Mother England in the upper left-hand corner. The star configuration on the right side is the Southern Cross, and the 7-pointed star represents the 7 states in Australia. The people from this country are called Aussies (aw'-zies) for short, and the country is often times referred to as "OZ." OK, history lesson over...now let's get to some pictures!
